St. Germain community comes together to serve unhoused neighbors

According to a press release from Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing Inc. – Frederick Place, the organization expressed gratitude for ongoing support from the St. Germain community during the 2025 fiscal year.

Ohde’s Pub N Prime Supper Club donated hot soups for several fundraising events held with Holy Family’s Knights of Columbus in Woodruff. Unsold soups were later provided to Frederick Place residents.

Earlier in the year, the St. Germain Community Thrift Shop contributed a financial donation toward operational expenses and supplied clothing items for residents.

In the fall, the St. Germain Fire Department and associates, along with the Labor Day Flea Market, provided space for the sale of raffle tickets.

Most recently, the St. Germain Women’s Club and the St. Germain PrimeTimers contributed funds to support operational costs.

“The St. Germain Community puts the ‘Come Together’ in community,” the release stated. “With their continued support, Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing – Frederick Place is able to continue our mission of serving our unhoused neighbors.”

The release noted that while the list of contributors is not all-inclusive, the combined efforts of the community have been described as humbling and deeply appreciated.
