SDR to offer youth tennis lessons in Hodag Dome
The School District of Rhinelander Community Education Program will offer youth tennis lessons in January for students entering grades 3-5. All sessions will be held at the Hodag Dome.
“This program introduces young players to the fundamentals of tennis in a fun, active, and encouraging environment,” the district stated in a press release. “Participants will learn basic strokes, footwork, and court awareness through age-appropriate games and drills designed to build coordination, confidence, and a love for the sport. The lessons also emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship, and active play. No prior experience is required — just bring your energy and enthusiasm.”
The lessons will included four sessions, held Mondays and Thursday from Jan. 5-15. Lessons will take place from 3:45 to 5 p.m. in the Hodag Dome, led by former Rhinelander High School girls’ tennis player Kelsey Winter.
Registration in $35 per person and pre-registration is required by Dec. 26. To register, visit the “Community” section of the School District of Rhinelander website. Online registration is available with a credit or debit card; paper registration is available by mail or drop-off.
