RHS Sports recap: Wendesday, Aug. 27

Girls’ swimming: Rhinelander 1st/10, Hodag Relays

The Rhinelander High School girls’ swim team won five events and edged Division 1 Bay Port by a single point to win the 10-team Hodag Relays Wednesday at the Heck Family Community Pool.

The Hodags broke meet records in the 200-yard medley relay with the team of June Chiamulera, Vivian Lamers, Ella Heck and Kiley Pooch (1:51.65) and the 150 mixer medley relay with Heck, Lamers and Millie Gruett (1:21.62).

Heck, Chiamulera and Gruett were all three-event winners on the day. Lamers, Emma Houg, Ryley Mickevicius and Pooch were each a part of two winning relays. 

The Hodags are back in action Thursday, Sept. 4 as the host Antigo and Medford in a double dual to open GNC play.
