Margie M. Melby

Margie M. Melby, 86, of Rhinelander, died on August 17, 2025. in Rhinelander. She was born on November 6, 1938, in Enterprise, the daughter of Everett and Hazel (Smith) Jenkins. She attended schools in Pelican Lake and Elcho but left early to help take care of her siblings and work on the family farm. She married Laurence Melby on May 24, 1958 and the Lord blessed them with over 58 years of marriage. She was a hard worker who loved her family. She was known for her abilities as a cook, gardener, caregiver and upholsterer.

Margie is survived by her daughters Chris (Tim) Sisel, Pamela (Mike) Kottke and Dana (Dan Crass) Melby, her sons Boone (Melissa) Melby and Dan (Stacy) Melby, her six grandchildren Timothy Sisel, Chelsea Davies, Jon Melby, Mason Melby, Carter Melby and Charlee Jo Melby, her seven great-grandchildren Grayson, Pennelope, Salem, Ella, Marceline, Jordan and Cora Jayne, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Laurence on September 7, 2016, and her son Carl Melby.
