Frederick Lee Goyins

Frederick Lee Goyins, 84, of Rhinelander, died on August 13, 2025 at the Rennes Health and Rehab in Rhinelander. He was born on August 19, 1940 in Bessemer, Mich., the son of Erwin and Margaret (Catalino) Goyins. After his schooling Fred enlisted in the U.S. Army for two years. He then served with the U.S. Navy for 20 years. Upon his honorable discharge he moved to Rhinelander where he was employed by the Rhinelander School District for 16 years. In his spare time he enjoyed ocean fishing and some hunting.

Fred married the former Dorothy Valle December 11, 1963. They were blessed with over 53 years of marriage before her passing on April 7, 2017. 

Fred is survived by his daughters Cindy (Mark) Recha, Tammy (Jeff) Johnson and Diane (Michael) McWalter, his son Fred (Kim) Goyins Jr., his grandchildren Adie Johnson, Jennifer Mehlhaff, Tiffany Gehrig and Rick Dionne, his great-grandchildren Connor and Reese Gehrig, Daphne and Fiona Mehlhaff, other family and friends. In addition to his wife he was also preceded in death by his sister Catherine Heffner.
