RHS Sports recap: Tuesday, Aug. 19

Girls’ tennis: Rhinelander 0-3, Bay Port Invite

The RHS girls’ tennis team dropped all three of its matches Tuesday in the final day of the Bay Port Invite. Rhinelander lost tight 4-3 decisions to New Richmond and Eau Claire Regis before losing to the hosting Pirates 7-0 in the nightcap. 

Willow Mutter and Addy Currie won two matches on the day at No. 3 doubles, giving them a 3-1 record at the flight for the two-day tournament. Jordan Manske (No. 2 singles) and Lucy Evers (No. 4 singles) added wins against New Richmond, while Becca Brost (No. 3 singles) and Willow VanDenHeuvel/Eva Heck (No. 2 doubles) picked up wins against Regis. 

Rhinelander (1-3, 0-0 Great Northern) opens conference play at Antigo on Thursday.
