Alzheimer’s Association program at ADRC of Oneida County Aug. 19


Join us for The Empowered Caregiver: Exploring Care and Support Services, an education program by the Alzheimer’s Association offered in partnership with the ADRC of Oneida County. This program is part of the Empowered Caregiver series and is intended for people who want to learn information and skills for caring for someone living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia.

Important topics covered in this program include:

• Understanding why it is important to plan for care changes as dementia progresses.

• Learning about different types of respite care including informal, home and day care.

• Comparing different types of long term and residential care.

• Knowing what’s important when moving a person from one care setting to another.

• End of life care.

• Community resources available to help you find the right kind of care.

The Empowered Caregiver: Exploring Care and Support Services program will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the ADRC of Oneida County (100 Keenan Street) from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
