Rhinelander community band welcomes special guest at final RiverWalk concert Aug. 13

At the final RiverWalk concert of the summer on Wednesday, Aug. 13, the Rhinelander Area Community Band will welcome guest conductor Jeffrey Traster, who will lead the program along with Marilyn Pekol, the band’s year-round director.

Traster is music professor emeritus of the University of Tampa, Florida. He is an active guest conductor, clinician, adjudicator, composer, tuba player and low-brass instructor. Among the pieces he will conduct is one of his own compositions, “Way Down.” 

The concert, which begins at 7 p.m. at the band shell near Trig’s, will include a variety of music for all ages. There is no admission charge; free popcorn and water will be available.
