Jadelyn Johannah Steele, 18, of Three Lakes, passed away on July 28, 2025 in a tragic automobile accident. She was born in Rhinelander, on March 2, 2007 to Megan Steele and Sam Welander.
Jade graduated from Three Lakes High School this year. She was a hard-worker. Jade worked as a waitress for many years, as well as a couple other jobs. She loved kids, drawing, and hanging out with family and friends. She loved many animals, including her bunny Spooky. She planned on going to school to become a teacher.
Jade was a smart, funny, and ambitious young lady. She had a contagious smile with a kind, polite, and beautiful soul. She loved her friends and family dearly. With the deepest love for her little brothers and cousins.
Jade is survived by her parents: Megan Steele, Sam Welander and Justin Bauknecht; brothers: Eli, Jack, Mason, Noah, Ian, and Bentley; sister: Layla; grandmas: Cindy, Laura and Jenni; grandpas: Bob and Wayne (Lucy); cousins: Lexi, James, and Matteo; aunts: April (Michael), Rose, Maddy, and Mary (Nick); uncles: Jason, Tony, Rusty, Robbie, and David; as well as many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandpas: Jerry and Ken; uncles: James and Mitch.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday Aug. 15 at the Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow at 2 p.m. at SpiritView Lakeside in Three Lakes.
