Learn To Hunt For Food course starts April 22
If you are interested in learning how to hunt and the many ways harvesting wild game is a smart choice for your health and the environment, consider registering for my upcoming Learn to Hunt for Food program in Rhinelander. The first class is April 22 at 6 p.m.
This course is for adults who are new to hunting and want to learn more about the health and environmental benefits of harvesting and eating upland wild game. Participants will have hands-on opportunities to learn shooting skills and enjoy hunts alongside mentors.
Participants will be paired with a mentor for a ruffed grouse hunt in September and have opportunities for more hunts with their mentor in the future. There will also be a hunt for the chukar partridge, an upland gamebird in the pheasant family.
Participants will get to sample locally raised and harvested wild game. Attendees are encouraged to bring garden goods and other local foods to share.
There is a $25 fee for the program, which will be paid at the first session. Pre-registration is required.
