Two Rhinelander middle school bowlers qualify for state
Two members of the Rhinelander Area Youth Bowling Club’s middle school team have qualified for next month’s Wisconsin Middle School Bowling Club state tournament.
Eighth grader Brighton Walkowski and seventh grader Natalie Dellenbach have qualified based on their fill percentage during the WiMSBC District 9 season. Dellenbach finished second in the middle school girls’ standings with a .6633 fill percentage while Walkowski was 15th in the boys’ standings among eligible bowlers with a .5816 fill percentage.
Though the District 9 middle school season ended in mid-March, the team had to wait a few additional weeks while other districts around the state finished up their season to know how many bowlers from District 9 would qualify. The top six girls and top 15 boys ended up qualifying for state.
The state meet will take place Saturday, May 3 at The Super Bowl in Appleton.
