RHS Sports recap: Tuesday, April 8

Girls’ soccer: Rhinelander 8, Three Lakes 0

The Rhinelander High School girls’ soccer team cruised past Three Lakes 8-0 in non-conference play Thursday night at Mike Webster Stadium.

Sophie Miljevich scored four times for the Hodags, including a tally that clinched a goal-rule victory in the 60th minute. Vivian Lamers scored twice for Rhinelander while Lindsey Hoerchler had a goal and three assists. Ella Miljevich also scored in the contest. 

Rhinelander outshot Three Lakes 32-1 in the contest and had a 21-1 edge in shots on goal. Emalee Detienne did not see any shots over the first 40 minutes to earn the win. Rylee Mickevicius made one save over the final 20 minutes.

The Hodags (1-2-0, 0-0-0-0 Great Northern) host Stevens Point on Thursday.

Boys’ tennis: Rhinelander 4, GB West 3; Rhinelander 4, Ashwaubenon 3

The Rhinelander High School boys’ tennis team swept doubles in both of their matches on Tuesday as they earned 4-3 victories over Green Bay West and Ashwaubenon in a triangular meet in Ashwaubenon.

Aiden Ostermann and Michael Schiek won both of their matches at No. 1 doubles, as did the pairing of Hart Hokens and Van Tulowitzky at No. 2 doubles. Aidan Lueder and Owen Evers won a match at No. 3 doubles, as did Danik Koniar and Brayden Lorman. Calvin Loomis won one match at No. 3 singles and Asher Rivord claimed a match at No. 4 singles. 

Rhinelander (2-0, 0-0 Great Northern) will take on Wausau East and Wausau West in a triangular in Wausau on Saturday.
