Mary Frances Gross

Mary Frances Gross, 87, of Rhinelander, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on April 2, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born on December 17, 1937, the daughter of Edward and Eleanor (Bloom) Guanella. She attended schools in Rhinelander and graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1956. She lived her entire life in Rhinelander but also enjoyed many years wintering in Gulf Shores, Ala.

Mary enjoyed cooking, quilting/sewing, Brewer’s baseball, Packer’s football and spending time with her eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mary was a lifetime member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rhinelander. She proudly worked in the quilting group called “The Cover Girls” for many years providing quilts for those in need around the world.

Mary is survived by her husband of 67 years Jack, daughters Pam (Ken) Cychosz and Karen (Bob) Weight, and her son Jeff (Kathy) Gross and her grandchildren Ben (Lindsay) Weight, Nic (Jackie) Weight, Ilirijana (Ryan) Zettel, Sam (Lauren) Cychosz, Eric (Moriah) Gross, Jackie (Ethan) Bettenga, Jaimee Gross, and Jacob Gross. She was preceded in death by her brother John and her parents.

Visitation for Mary will be held on Tuesday, April 8, from 10 to noon, with memorial services following at noon, all at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
