Trump’s transparency troubles: Reader questions ‘A’ grade for openness

To the Editor:

You gave President Trump an “A” in your “2025 awards and grades for openness in conducting public business” article. You must have very selective and specific criteria to award this president such a grade given that he’s put an unelected, unaccountable billionaire in charge of the so-called DOGE. DOGE’s lack of transparency in its efforts to root out fraud, waste, and abuse, especially in relation to the Social Security Administration and digging around in people’s private data, outweighs Trump’s meaningless executive order about free speech.

How about a little more reported, local news and less right-wing opinion in this paper?
