Hodag football team to support Klaas during Oct. 18 game

The Rhinelander High School football team and Hodag Gridiron Club are joining in the fight to support a School District of Rhinelander employee battling breast cancer.

The club is taking pre-orders for pink “Tackle Cancer” T-Shirts that the Hodags plan to wear prior to their Oct. 18 contest against Merrill at Mike Webster Stadium. Proceeds from shirt sales will support Holly Klaas and her family as Klaas — a 2004 RHS grad and current sign language interpreter in the district — battles Stage 1 breast cancer.

T-Shirts are $20 each and range in youth sizes from extra small to extra large, and adult sizes from extra small to 5XL.

Shirts can be pre-ordered through the Gridion Club via a Google form. The link is also available on the Hodag Football Facebook page.

The Hodag volleyball team and RHS HOSA chapter are hosting a separate benefit for Klaas during the Hodags’ home volleyball match Oct. 3 against Medford. Raffles, contests, lotus drink sales and a donor wall will take place during that contest to raise money for the Klaas family.
