Free city-wide cleanup in October
The City of Rhinelander has announced fall clean-up days will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 and 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct 5.
All items must be brought to the collection site at 644 Washington St.(city street department), the city clerk’s office announced in a press release.
This free service is open to current City of Rhinelander residents only. Participants must provide a proof of residency. Examples include current utility bill, Wisconsin ID, bank statement, lease. Limit to one visit per resident. The site will be designed in a loop format for easy flow and staff will be on hand to provide directions.
There will be no curbside pick-up.
Accepted items include:
• Non-food household waste — clothing, small tools, housewares, dishes, bedding, etc., furniture — end tables, chairs, desks, chests, beds, sofas, mattresses
• Small appliances (No freon) — toasters, hair dryers, lamps, radios, plug-in tools etc.
Prohibited items include:
• Electronics — TVs, computers, or batteries
• Fluorescent bulbs
• Tires
• Yard waste-leaves or brush
• Vehicle parts and fluids
• Freon appliances — refrigerators, AC units
• Large volume of construction/demolition material, decking, shingles etc.
