Joyce Maria Helser

Joyce Maria Helser, age 83, of Pelican Lake, died on September 11, 2024, at her home. She was born on January 5, 1941, in Rhinelander, the daughter of Mike and Cora (Pond) Robison.

She graduated high school in Elcho, and after graduation she married Rudolph “Rudy” Helser and they shared many wonderful years together. They moved to Illinois for a short period, moved back to Gleason for a couple years, and then to Oshkosh. After retirement, she moved to Pelican Lake with their son, Gary.

Joyce enjoyed painting ceramics, woodworking, baking, and cooking. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. In her younger years she played baseball and snowmobiled.

She survived raising one son and three daughters, and multiple health problems and cancers in her 83 years. She was a tuff ol bird.

Joyce is survived by her daughters Lynda (Ed) Jackson, Donna Helser, and Diana Helser, her son Gary Helser, her grandchildren Nick, Zac (Tori), Tony (Angel), Joy (Jake), Ethan, and Chellisy, five great-grandchildren, other family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Rudy, her parents Mike and Cora, her sister Virginia Bergman, and her brothers, Leon Robison and Wilber Robison.

There will be a memorial gathering on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. located at: 944 Deleglise Street – Antigo, WI 54409. Cake and coffee will be served. You may leave your private condolences for the Helser family at www.carlsonfh.com.
