Mercer library’s annual Fall Celebration Open House returns on Sept. 14

The Friends of the Mercer Public Library are thrilled to invite the community to their annual Fall Celebration Open House, taking place on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 2 to 5 p.m. This free event offers a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors alike to come together, celebrate and support the library.

Attendees will enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine and soft drinks on the library grounds while enjoying live music provided by Chris Skinner. There will be additional displays inside the library as well, ensuring a delightful experience for all.

The ever-popular book basket raffles are back, featuring eight beautifully themed baskets. Each basket includes a carefully selected book and an assortment of gifts related to its theme. Raffle tickets are available at the library now, with winners to be drawn on September 20. This year’s baskets have been generously donated by the Wampum Shop, Wisconsin Coating Specialists, the Loony Paddlers, Woods & Blooms Garden Club, Chelley and Linn Beck, Rooted Soul Yoga Studio, Brian and Ann Myrland, and Mary Warren and Amy Christianson.

In addition to the raffles, the Friends of the Library will host an online auction, showcasing a fantastic collection of items, services, and experiences donated by local businesses and residents. The auction kicks off on Sept. 14 and runs through Sept. 22. Items will be on display during the open house, and participants can visit the library’s website at www.mercerpubliclibrary.org for a link to the auction.

Returning by popular demand is the “Dine Around” event, where guests can purchase a wrapped box containing a mystery gift certificate valued between $25 and $100 to local restaurants, supper clubs, bars and food stores. The thrill of discovering what’s inside makes this a must-try!
