Carolyn J. Kaufman

Carolyn J. Kaufman, born on February 23, 1943, peacefully gained her wings on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the age of 81, surrounded by love and care under the Aspirus Hospice Care. Her daughter Dorothy also her husband Philip were by her side every day, offering comfort during her final moments.

Carol was a loving and devoted mother to six children, though she was predeceased by her beloved son, Roland L. Kaufman. She filled her family’s hearts with love, always sending them home with warm food and full stomachs. Her pure and genuine heart shone through her generosity, and she found her greatest joy in seeing her grandchildren and caring for her family. Carol touched the lives of everyone she met with her selflessness, always helping those in need.

She is survived by her children: Gordon (Missy) Kaufman, John (Jamie Cole) Kaufman, Dorothy (Phil) Gritzmacher, Jack Kaufman and Kevin Kaufman along with an adopted daughter Jennifer Anderson. Carol also leaves behind two loving sisters, Barbara (Darwin) Bushor and Linda, along with many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.

Carol was preceded in death by her life partner, Roderick Bushor; her son, Roland L. Kaufman; her brothers, Millard H. Maples and George Maples; and her mother and father. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, for her kindness, generosity, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of so many.

Carolyn's legacy of love, warmth, and compassion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She leaves behind a void that will never be filled, but her memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who were blessed to know her.

There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 10 a.m. to noon, with a memorial service following at noon, all at the Carlson Funeral Home.
