The 2024 Footstock National Figure 8 Barefoot Championships were held Aug. 17-18 in Crandon. Plum Ski-Tees Ella Miljevich, Owen Repenshek and Sophie Miljevich took part in the Championships.
There are five divisions at Footstock — Women’s Division (female, any age); Juniors (16 and under, coed); Open (open to anyone); Seniors (coed, 40+); and Masters (coed, 60+).
Sophie Miljevich of Rhinelander won the Women’s Division for a record-setting fifth time. She has been the Women’s National Champion five out of the last six years (2024, 2023, 2021, 2020 and 2019) and placed second once (2022). She has secured five national championships by the age of 17. She also competed in the Open Division.
Ella Miljevich of Rhinelander placed second in the Women’s Division. She has placed second three times (2024, 2023 and 2021) and won the national championship once (2022). She also participated in the Juniors Division.
Repenshek of St. Germain placed 16th in the Open Division.
Footstock is the largest Figure 8 Endurance Barefooting tournament in the world and the U.S. championships for endurance barefooting. This year, Footstock hosted 150-plus skiers in five divisions from all over the United States, Canada and New Zealand.
