Boys’ soccer: New London 4, Rhinelander 1
The Rhinelander High School boys’ soccer team fell in its WIAA playoffs opener 4-1 at New London on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs scored three times in the first half to take control of the match. Rhinelander got a goal back on an Aidan Lueder goal in the 67th minute, but had two players — Aiden Ostremann and John Turek — sent off after picking up their second yellow cards of the match. The Bulldogs scored once more in the final four minutes with the Hodags down two men.
Shots were 23-11 in favor of New London. Barak Rappley made nine saves in the loss.
Rhinelander finishes the season with a 4-10-2 record.
