Lefse at Trinity Lutheran Church
When they came to the United States in the mid-1800s, many Norwegians brought their culinary knowledge and rolling pins with them.
The result is a Norwegian potato bread delicacy that’s part of a special tradition replicated in many Norwegian-American homes and churches for more than 150 years.
It’s a beloved tradition in Rhinelander as well as members of Trinity Lutheran Church have kept the traditional making of authentic lefse each fall for several decades.
This delicious authentic Norwegian lefse will be sold at the Annual Christmas Bazaar at Trinity Lutheran Church (235 N. Stevens Street) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, November 9.
Guests will find lots of delicious bakery, handcrafted items, holiday decorations, collectibles and white elephant items, organizers said in a press release.
Plan to stay for a luncheon consisting of soups, BBQ’s and homemade pies.
As usual, the morning will start with a “warm welcome” coffee and Christmas cookies served from 9 to 10 a.m.
Trinity’s Christmas Bazaar is sponsored by WELCA.
Proceeds from the bazaar will be used for Lutheran World Relief Mission Projects.
