RHS Sports recap: Tuesday, Oct. 22

Volleyball: Merrill 3, Rhinelander 0

The Rhinelander High School volleyball team held leads in all three sets, but faded in each as it was swept by the Merrill Bluejays 25-20, 25-20, 25-16 Tuesday in a WIAA Division 2 regional quarterfinal in Merrill. 

Libbey Buchmann led the Hodags with eight kills, while Kelsi Beran had six kills. Lucy Lindner tallied 17 assists, 11 digs and five aces and Lexi Beran had a pair of block kills. 

Rhinelander finishes its season with a 12-27 record.
