Oneida County launches new community health plan
The Oneida County Health Department (OCHD) has announced the launch of Oneida County’s new Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). The CHIP is a comprehensive approach designed to address the pressing health needs of our community, department officials explained in a press release.
The plan will be detailed at a special event scheduled for 3:30 to 5 p.m. November 13, at Nicolet College Northwoods Center.
“We welcome everyone to attend this free event,” the release states. “It is our goal to bring together health experts, community leaders, and residents to showcase the top four health priorities outlined in the CHIP and how it will shape the future of public health in our county.”
With a focus on improving health outcomes and reducing disparities, the CHIP aims to address the following.
• Housing – Expanding access to safe and affordable housing for all residents
• Childcare – Supporting families by improving the availability and affordability of quality childcare
• Substance Use – Addressing substance use through enhanced prevention efforts
• Mental Health – Promoting mental well-being for all and expanding access to mental health care
“We are thrilled to introduce this dynamic plan that prioritizes the well-being of all residents,” said Linda Conlon, health department director. “By working together, we can create lasting change and improve the quality of life for all who call Oneida County home.”
“The CHIP is the result of a collaborative process, engaging stakeholders from across the public and private sectors,” the release states. “It represents a shared vision for a healthier, more equitable community. We will continue to work with partners to address the unique health needs of Oneida County and ensure that all residents have access to the resources they need to thrive.”
