Donn Lindwall

Donn Lindwall, age 89, of Shoreline, Wash. and Rhinelander, died on Oct. 5, 2024, at his Crescent Lake home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 1, 1935, in Highland Park, Ill., the son of Walter and Alice (Olson) Lindwall.

Donn graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1953. He joined the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge. He attended Valparaiso University, graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and then received his master’s degree from Winona State and post-graduate certification as a school psychologist. Donn taught high school English in Auburndale but spent the majority of his career as a school counselor and school psychologist for the Department of Defense Schools in Japan. After 26 years in Japan, he retired and moved to Shoreline, Wash.

During his time overseas and in retirement, he remained a true Hodag and returned every summer to spend his time on Crescent Lake and at Rhinelander Country Club, where he has been a member for 47 years. His passion for golf and the Packers occupied his time until his death.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Karen, his daughter Jennifer, and his brother Lance (Mary) Lindwall. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Alice Lindwall.
