Ronald Gerdes

Ronald Gerdes, age 77, of Rhinelander, died on October 6, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 2, 1947, in Gleason, the son of Julius and Pearl (Kegler) Gerdes. He attended schools in Rhinelander, graduating from Rhinelander High School in 1965. He then served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and upon his honorable discharge he returned to Rhinelander and was employed by the Rhinelander Paper Company until his retirement.

Ron married the former Sharon Sachse on April 17, 1966 and they were blessed with 52 years of marriage until God called Sharon home on September 13th of 2018.

Ron enjoyed woodworking, raising rabbits, gardening, photography and hunting. He was a longtime member ot the St. Mark Lutheran Church.

Ron is survived by his daughter Janice (Marsh) Beall, his son Allen (Dawn) Gerdes, his grandchildren Ryan, Tyler and Tessa, his great-grandchildren Parker and Eve, his sisters Gloria Moore, Kathryn (Craig) Fowler, Jane Walkowski and Nancy (Randy) Knuth, his brothers Dale (Helen) Gerdes and Greg (Teri) Gerdes, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon and his parents.

Visitation for Ron will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 9 to 11 a.m. with memorial services following at 11 a.m., all at St. Mark Lutheran Church. Reverend Richard Miller will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery. You may also leave your private condolences for the Gerdes family at www.carlsonfh.com.
