Donald Petersen

Donald Petersen, age 86, of the Town of Cassian, died on September 29, 2024 at the Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff. He was born on April 27, 1938, in Rhinelander, the son of Alfred and Florence (Gustafson) Petersen. He attended schools in Rhinelander and then owned and operated Petersen’s Auto and Truck Repair.

Donald passed peacefully after a courageous fight with cancer. He was a respected, honorable man, a pillar of strength, and a very hardworking man. A man of deep faith with a genuine love of family. Donald also had a deep passion for the animal kingdom. To all that had the pleasure of knowing (Dad) Donald, we are certain he left you with memories of his character showing reverence, presence and a bit of his feistiness. He will be deeply missed by all he touched though his 86 years.

He is survived by his wife Wanda, his daughters Brenda (William) Collier and Kim (Russell) Pratt, his son Donald Petersen, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, his sister Carol (Petey) Petersen, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Jean Spafford and Norma Evans and his brothers Kenneth Petersen, Leo Petersen, Leroy Petersen, and James Petersen.

There will be a “Celebration of Life" at a date to be determined.
