Rhinelander Swim Club gears up for season
With a history spanning more than 60 years, the Rhinelander Swim Club (RSC) is proud to boast one of its largest teams on record, with more than 90 athletes this season.
“We are very excited to have such a large group of athletes this season,” club head coach Megan Cihla said. “It’s great to see more of an interest in our sport. And many of our swimmers who stick with us over the years go on to do great things for our High School team and beyond. Our athletes are always excited to showcase their talents at their home pool. We have been practicing since mid-October and they are all ready for their families and friends to cheer them on at our upcoming home meet!”
The mission of RSC is to provide high quality competitive age swimming for Rhinelander area youth that emphasizes positive attitudes, teamwork, sportsmanship, healthy lifestyles and swimmer development.
“We are lucky to have such a dedication to this sport in our community,” stated RSC Board President Ken Heck. “The commitment of our parents, volunteers, and athletes has been a recipe for success over the years.”
As this season begins, athletes are gearing up for a winter filled with competition, culminating in conference, state, and national-level events that will wrap up in March and April.
RSC is hosting their home meet on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Heck Family Community Pool at Rhinelander High School. Four other swim clubs from northern Wisconsin will be in attendance.
