Robert "Bob" Wayne Mullikin, age 76, of Rhinelander, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024, at Cumberland Heights in Rhinelander. He was born on July 3, 1948, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Robert and Louella (Baker) Mullikin.
Robert graduated in 1966 from Moline High School and then attended Blackhawk College, earning his associate's degree in 1968. He married his high school sweetheart, Bonny Gayle Weise, on September 6, 1969 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moline.
He joined the Army National Guard in 1970. He then attended St. Ambrose University, earning his bachelor’s degree in 1972.
Robert relocated with his family in 1979 to the Rhinelander area. He worked for Triumph Twist Drill from 1978 to its closing in 2002. He then went to work for the hospital in Rhinelander in 2002 until his retirement in 2017.
Robert was an avid baseball player and enthusiast, passing on his skills and knowledge to the Little League of Rhinelander for over 20 seasons, coaching his son, grandsons, and many other youths of Rhinelander.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bonny (Wiese), his daughter Teresa (Mark) Steinmetz, his son Joseph (Kristi) Mullikin, his grandchildren Dakota, Ivy (Wyatt Olson), Ella (Pablo Garza V), Dante, Cael and Kendall, great-grandson Pablo Garza VI, his sisters Sally Dose and Lynda (Rick) Rader, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law Dan Newburg and Don (Sharon) Wiese. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters Bonnie Ann Fiser and Kathleen Ann Newburg.
The family would like to thank Alan, Melissa, and the rest of the staff at Cumberland Heights for the loved and care they provided these last few months.
