RHS Sports recap: Thursday, Nov. 21

Girls’ basketball: Rhinelander 57, Crandon 40

Aubryn Clark led three Hodags in double figures with 25 points as Rhinelander pulled away in the second half to defeat Crandon 57-40 on the road Thursday night.

The Hodags, who trailed 15-2 early, got back to within 29-27 at halftime and closed the game on a 25-7 run over the final 12 1/2 minutes.

Clark, despite battling illness, went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc and 9 of 13 overall to lead all scorers. Kelsey Winter had 10 points and nine rebounds for Rhinelander while Vivian Lamers chipped in 10 points and Dawsyn Barkus scored eight. 

Lauren Littleton paced Crandon with 17 points while Lily Palubicki had 10. 

Rhinelander (1-0, 0-0 Great Northern) travels to Rice Lake on Monday.
