Veterans Pool Tournament a success
The inaugural Veterans Day pool tournament, held last Saturday in Tomahawk drew strong support. Tournament organizer Misty Bergsrud stated the event raised more than $8,200, which will be presented to the Never Forgotten Honor Flight later this year.
“We had a total of 47 baskets won in raffles, all which were generously donated from businesses and people of our small community,” Bergsrud explained. “Many residents came in and enjoyed a free meal, also which was all donated and got to watch some great pool matches as well.”
She noted that many of the pool tournament winners, and winners of the 50/50 raffle donated their winnings back to the cause. Bergsrud thanked tournament hosts Cockatiels, Floyd’s and the Tomahawk VFW hall, along with tournament director Joe Trapp.
