Giving season: CoVantage Cares, YMCA announce holiday campaigns
The CoVantage Cares Foundation will kick off its annual two-week fundraising campaign on Tuesday, December 3, otherwise known as Giving Tuesday. This year’s campaign aims to make a profound difference in the lives of countless individuals and families within the communities CoVantage Credit Union serves, according to a CoVantage press release.
“Every dollar donated will be matched up to $175,000 by the CoVantage Cares Foundation, effectively doubling the impact of each contribution,” the release states. “This generous matching gift will support local non-profit organizations that provide essential services, such as food, shelter, education, and healthcare, thereby enhancing the overall well-being of local communities.”
The Rhinelander CoVantage branch is partnering with Hodag10s who will use funds raised to support the Hodag Park project that will include a new playground and splashpad.
“CoVantage Credit Union has a long history of giving back to the communities we serve,” said Charlie Zanayed, CoVantage CEO. “This year’s fundraising campaign is a testament to our commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need. We encourage everyone to join us in spreading kindness and hope during this season of giving.”
Individuals and businesses can donate to the campaign in a variety of ways:
• Donate in person: Visit any CoVantage branch and let the friendly staff assist you.
• Give on the go: Download the CoVantage mobile app and contribute with a few taps.
• Donate from the comfort of your home: Visit covantagecu.org/givingtuesday.
“Every dollar counts! Contributions, big or small, will be doubled by CoVantage Cares Foundation, directly benefiting local charities that are working tirelessly to strengthen our communities,” said CoVantage Cares Foundation Director Morgan Teal. “Together, we can create a season of hope and support for those who need it most.”
The YMCA of the Northwoods is also getting into the holiday spirit.
This year, the YMCA of the Northwoods is excited to join millions around the world by participating in Giving Tuesday, special day of “doing good.”
The YMCA of the Northwoods invites the Northwoods community to explore the positive impact the Y has made over the past year and to consider donating this holiday season. Many may think of the Y as a place for fitness or family fun, but the Y’s true power goes far beyond its physical spaces. The Y lives in the hearts and actions of every community member who believes in the vision of a stronger, healthier community, Y officials said in a press release.
With the generous support of the Northwoods community, the YMCA has been able to make a lasting difference in 2023 through initiatives like:
• Raising $181,646 to support crucial programs and services in our community.
• Distributing $225,090 in financial assistance, ensuring all individuals and families have access to the Y's resources.
• Teaching essential, life-saving swim skills to 1,053 youth.
• Welcoming 132 kids to summer day camp for an unforgettable season of learning and fun.
• Supporting 209 seniors through specialized wellness programs that foster social connection and health.
• Hosting 297 teens for safe, engaging nights of fun at teen events.
• Offering 1,800 hours of community-building group fitness classes, helping neighbors grow stronger together.
“Every dollar donated on Giving Tuesday helps us support the Northwoods community,” said Stephanie Dahlquist, associate executive director at the YMCA of the Northwoods. “From building youth confidence and wellness, to offering senior support and financial assistance, every contribution makes a profound difference. Together, we are building a stronger, healthier Northwoods for all.”
