Anita Margaret Salinas, 97, of the Town of Crescent, passed away on Tuesday morning, October 15, 2024, at Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital.
Anita Haufe was born December 3, 1926, in Cook County, Ill., to Kurt C. & Emma Agnes Franz Haufe. She was 8 years old when her mother took her to Hersbruck, Middle Franconia, Bavaria, Germany to visit her maternal grandparents. She attended school there for a year.
She graduated from York Community High School in Elmhurst, Ill. She particularly enjoyed writing, art and recently coloring. She lived in Illinois, Princeton and Rhinelander. She loved all animals, especially horses and dogs.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Henry & Martin Haufe, her husband Alvin Manweiler, and her grandson Adam Baggett.
She is survived by her husband Walle Salinas, stepson James Salinas, Mercer, son Roy (Jan) Manweiler, Princeton, daughter Faye Baggett, Princeton, granddaughters Rachel Baggett (Eddie Lambert), Robin Baggett (Jeff Lieske) and Joy Manweiler (Nick) Bastian, great-grandchildren: Gunnar, Hunter & Zachary Lambert; Logan, Wyatt & Alec Smith; and Abigail Baggett; nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hildebrand Funeral Home & Cremation Specialists, Rhinelander.
