The School District of Rhinelander Community Education Program and the Rhinelander Curling Club are collaborating to offer a “Learn to Curl” program at the Rhinelander Ice Arena, the district has announced.
There will be two offerings for the three-week program — one that takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17; Sunday, Dec. 1 and Sunday, Dec. 8 and another than takes place from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, Monday, Dec. 2 and Monday, Dec. 9.
“Join us for a three-week session and learn the fun and unique sport of curling! Curling is a sport that you will never age out of,” the district stated in a press release. “Learn the strategies and etiquette of the game from some of the most experienced curlers in Wisconsin. All ages are welcome. Stick curling is also available for those with bad knees or backs.”
The cost for the class is $35 per person, which will be instructed by Terri Gleason and other Rhinelander Curling Club members. While the class is open to all ages, those under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Participants are asked to wear a clean pair of tennis or court shoes to class.
