WIAA board approves spring co-ops, realignment proposals at May meeting

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control approved spring cooperative teams and eight conference realignment fast track recommendations at its meeting last Friday.

Three of the non-football conference realignment fast track requests ratified by the Board were for all sports. Osseo-Fairchild will move from the Cloverbelt Conference to Dairyland Conference beginning this fall, and Elk Mound will exit the Dunn-St. Croix to enter the West Division of the Cloverbelt Conference starting in 2025-26. St. Augustine Preparatory Academy will leave the Lake City Conference to play an independent schedule in 2024-25.

Two of the fast tracks passed by the Board impacted conferences for girls’ golf only, beginning in 2024-25. Adams-Friendship moves from the South Central Conference to Wisconsin Valley Conference, and Lake Country Lutheran transitions from independent status to the Woodland Conference. In addition, Wonewoc-Center moves from the Scenic Bluffs Conference to the Coulee Conference for boys’ golf only. 

Following the board’s approval, Assumption will move from the Marawood Conference to the Coulee Conference for girls’ tennis only in 2024-25, and Providence Academy will join the Packerland Conference in boys’ soccer and both boys’ and girls’ cross country in 2024-25 after competing as an independent. 

Other action items approved by the board include the spring co-op teams for 2024-25 and 2025-26, the 2024 Annual Meeting transcript, a revision to the WIAA Licensure & Royalty Policy (Senior High Handbook Appendix L) and the general fund statements and payments for April.
