Rhinelander native Bradley Comer, a senior infielder for UW-Stevens Point, was named to the All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball first team last week.
Comer garnered his fourth consecutive first-team award from the WIAC. According to a UW-Stevens Point press release, he started and played all 43 games for the Pointers this season as he set school records in career home runs (51), hits (320), runs scored (225), RBI (251) and games played (226).
Comer led the Pointers in hitting with a.371 average, 10th-best in the WIAC. He clubbed 14 home runs, second most in the conference, and his 53 RBI were sixth among WIAC hitters. He was 12-for-12 in stolen base attempts, tied for the team lead. Comer had three-straight games with two home runs in each against UW-Platteville and Lawrence and earned WIAC Player of the Week honors in April. He had the team's longest hitting streak of the year with 17-straight from April 20 to May 9.
The Pointers finished 26-17 overall and third in the WIAC.
