RHS Sports recap: Wednesday, May 15

Golf: Rhinelander 4th/7, GNC Meet No. 6

The Rhinelander High School golf team shot 351 on Wednesday ant took fourth in the penultimate leg of the Great Northern Conference golf tournament hosted by Antigo at Bass Lake Golf Club in Deerbrook. 

The result dropped Rhinelander into a tie for third in the GNC standings with Northland Pines, which took third on the day. 

Sam Schoppe recovered from a slow start, playing his final 12 holes in 2-over to shoot 79 on Wednesday to finish in a tie for sixth. Brody Kowieski shot 81 and tied for eighth. Blake Petroff shot 89, Chase West had a 102 and Hank Kowieski shot 111. 

The final round of the conference meet takes place today hosted by Lakeland at Trout Lake Golf Club in Arbor Vitae.
