Shane Aaron Smithey, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, April 22, 2024.
He was born on September 24, 1992, in Evansville, Indiana, the son of Lisa and Leo Smithey.
Shane is preceded in death by his grandpa, Richard Gonterman, aunt, Toni Hickman, and a cousin, Matthew Boatman.
He is survived by his two sons, Prestynn (11), and Jaxson (8) Smithey whom he loved very much, mother, Lisa Smithey, father, Leo Smithey, brother, Rickey (Krystle) Smithey, sister, Kendra Saddler, grandma, Anne Gonterman, uncle, Michael Minton, aunt, Lorretta Fisher, his nieces, Gabreille (Dakota) Fluhr, Savannah and Piper Smithey and Hevan Saddler, nephews, Caden Bates, Noah and Richard Smithey, Cayson Sanchez, Henry Saddler, cousins, Tristian, Hannah, Molly, Minton, Kaitlyn, and Tifany Fisher, Brayden Langston, Crystal (Rex) Norris Rex, Katherine, Mattie, and Andrew Norris whom Shane was close to.
Shane loved to be known by his middle name, Aaron. While in high school Shane was a member of the JROTC. He was fun and could be stubborn. Aaron was employed at Country Tire and enjoyed working there. He loved fishing, hunting, and playing video games. He enjoyed wearing his camouflage outfits while participating in paintball shooting. He also enjoyed playing pool with friends and family, but one of the most important sports he enjoyed participating in was fishing. If you couldn’t find Shane, the chances were pretty good you would find him at some lake.
Shane will be cremated and there will be a Celebration of Life for him sometime in the summer. The family will let relatives and friends know through Facebook.
