RHS alum Comer ties UWSP career home run mark

Bradley Comer, a senior at UW-Stevens Point and a 2018 RHS graduate, tied the Pointers career home run mark last week.

Comer hit two home runs in a 17-16 loss to Lawrence University April 23, giving him 50 homers for his career, tying the mark set by Ryan Jones from 2001-05. It’s just the latest UWSP all-time mark to fall to Comer, who has already set career marks for hits (304), RBIs (242) and at bats (881) this season while moving into second on the all-time list in runs scored (215), doubles (58), total bases (518) and games played (217).

As of this past Saturday’s doubleheader against UW-La Crosse, Comer was hitting .353 on the year and led the Pointers with 13 homers and 44 RBIs. The Pointers sat at 22-13 on the season and 13-7 in the WIAC heading into a non-conference game against St. Norbert College Wednesday that concluded after press time.

(Editor's note: Comer broke the program record Wednesday, hitting his 51st home run against St. Norbert.)

The Pointers conclude their regular season with a pair of conference doubleheaders at UW-Whitewater Friday and Saturday.
