Felzkowski announces re-election bid

State Senator Mary Felzkowski (R-Tomahawk) announced Wednesday that she is running for re-election this November in Wisconsin’s 12th Senate District. The 12th Senate District, under new maps, covers all of Florence, Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Marinette, Oneida, and Vilas counties, and parts of Oconto, Marathon, and Shawano counties.

Felzkowski was first elected to represent the 35th Assembly District in 2012. She served four 2-year terms in the Assembly, including two sessions as a member of the budget-writing Joint Finance Committee, and one session as the Assistant Majority Leader.

She was elected to the State Senate in 2020, where she once again serves as a member of the budget-writing Joint Finance Committee. Felzkowski is running for a four-year term in the Senate that would begin in January of 2025, and run through 2028.

In a press release announcing her re-election bid, Felzkowski stated: “I’ve been extremely honored to have the opportunity to represent the people of northern Wisconsin in Madison, and I hope to earn your vote as we continue to fight for lower taxes, smaller government, less burdensome regulations, and strong conservative values.”

Throughout the last four years, Senator Felzkowski had 26 bills signed into law by the Governor — with a handful more still awaiting his signature. Her focus in the Legislature has been on fixing our broken healthcare system — increasing access and decreasing costs — without sacrificing quality, the release states.

Felzkowski continued: “Working with a Democrat governor isn’t ideal by any means, but we aren’t sent to Madison to sit back and do nothing for four years while we wait for a Republican to take over the East Wing. I’m proud of the successes I’ve achieved during my time in office so far, and I look forward to more accomplishments in the future. The next two election cycles will be crucial for our country and state. We must come together and work towards a collective goal of electing Republicans up and down the ballot — including the President and U.S. Senate in 2024, and then Governor in 2026. We need leaders in Madison who will stand strong for conservative principles and defend our constitutional rights. I look forward to continuing to fight on behalf of the Northwoods, and I hope you'll entrust me in taking on that role once again in 2025.”
