Diane Marie Marquardt, 81, was called to her heavenly home surrounded by the love of her family on March 09, 2024. Born in San Diego, Calif., Diane later returned to Wisconsin with her parents, Morgan and Eleanor Huglen, where she graduated from Rhinelander High School. Diane married Eldore "Butch" Marquardt and raised four sons.
Throughout her life, Diane wore many hats in various secretarial positions at Rhinelander Paper Co, St. Mark's Lutheran Church and McCloud - Yellow Book. An avid reader and storyteller, Diane found solace in the pages of books and cherished sharing tales with those she held dear. Long phone conversations with many of her friends and family were a source of great joy. She enjoyed the beauty of Wisconsin's lakes with boating, camping and swimming adventures.
Diane leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Her proudest achievements were her sons and their families, Paul (Karen), Peter (Barb), Shawn (Mary), and Jon. Her legacy extends through her grandchildren Matthew, Kaddie, Semra, and her great-granddaughter, Reese. She is also survived by her siblings Michael (Donna) Huglen, Mark (Gayle) Huglen, Steven (Rita) Huglen, Cindy (Phil) Dellegrazio. Her dear aunt and lifelong companion, Carol Jean Alderton, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends mourn her passing.
Let us remember threads of warmth, laughter, and her enduring love. Thank you to all of Diane’s caregivers. We appreciate your kindness and care for Diane and the family during this difficult time.
Visitation for Diane will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at the Carlson Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until noon, with a prayer service to follow at noon, with Pastor Ed Foster officiating.
