Hunter, boater, and ATV safety courses offered this spring/summer
The Oneida County sheriff’s office and the School District of Rhinelander’s community education program are co-sponsoring Wisconsin DNR certified hunter, boater, and ATV safety courses.
Hunter Safety
First offering: April 1, 2, 4, 8, 10, and 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. (participant is expected to attend all dates)
Second offering: June 10, 11, 12, and 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (participant is expected to attend all dates)
Boater Safety
June 10 and 11 from 2 to 5 p.m. (participant is expected to attend both dates)
ATV Safety
June 12 and 13 from 2 to 5 p.m. (participant is expected to attend both dates)
All classes will be held at the sheriff’s office at 2000 E. Winnebago St. in Rhinelander.
Course objectives include: reduce the potential for accidents, injuries, and fatalities; reduce the potential for conflict between participants, landowners, and other resource users; promote safe, responsible and ethical use of the environment and our resources.
Ages 12 and older is the target age, but all ages are welcome. The instructor will be Michael Baran from the Oneida County sheriff's office. The fee for the class is $10/person and should be paid with cash or check at the first class.
Students are required to obtain a DNR customer ID number for this class. If the student does not already have one, contact the DNR at 1-888-936-7463 to obtain this number prior to registering.
Pre-registration is required and space is limited.
