Food pantry to host annual luncheon

The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry (RAFP) will host its sixth annual spring fundraiser, the Garden Fresh Salad Bowl Luncheon, on April 27, at Holiday Acres Resort. This event, typically attended by 125 guests, is in support of RAFP’s programs and services to build a food secure community, organizers said in a press release.  

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.  The public is invited to enjoy a delicious lunch including a dozen signature salads along with soups and rolls from your favorite local restaurants topped off with an array of delicious desserts. A highlight of the Garden Fresh Salad Bowl Luncheon is the silent auction and plant sale. Bill Kingsbury of Shavings & Threads will also be there with his beautiful wood vessels and turnings.

A limited number of tickets for the event are available for $25 and can be purchased online at RhinelanderAreaFoodPantry.org. Tickets have sold out fast in the past, so you are encouraged to Save the Date and get your tickets as soon as possible, organizers said.

RAFP is also looking for financial sponsors and donors for auction items such as Garden Decor and furniture, hanging baskets, potted plants and house plants, gift certificates or gardening tools and supplies.

The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry is also in the midst of its annual RAFP Spring Challenge that occurs during the months of March and April. Two local families, who wish to remain anonymous, have agreed once again to make a partial match for all donations or pledges received through April 30. The Salad Bowl Luncheon falls within this time frame, so it is an excellent way to enjoy a delicious lunch and know that your donation will go farther and provide even more help to area families in need, the release states.
