David R. Payne

David R. Payne of Woodbury, Minn. passed away on Feb. 19, 2024, just shy of his 73rd birthday, at his home after a brief bout with pneumonia.

He was born in Eau Claire, the son of Rodney and MaryLou Payne.

Dave was a 1969 graduate of Rhinelander Union High School, then a graduate of UW-Eau Claire in 1973 with a marketing/business degree.

Dave enjoyed traveling and downhill skiing in the winter months, then boating on the St. Croix all summer.

Dave is survived by one brother Mark (Therese) Payne of Fitchburg and one sister, Mary Ellen (Patrick) Hall of Rhinelander, also one nephew, Christopher Payne of Verona.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
