Great Lakes Aquatic Invasive Species Landing Blitz coming to Northwoods lakes and flowages
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is using a “landing blitz” to remind boaters to help stop the spread of invasive plants and animals in our waters.
The effort is a collaboration of all Great Lakes states and provinces to educate boaters that simple clean-up steps and draining water from the boat and live wells can help prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species. From June 26 to July 6, volunteers and invasive species prevention partners will be greeting Wisconsin boaters at landings and access points across the state to share information on how to prevent the spread of invasives while recreating, the agency announced in a press release.
