Babe Ruth Roundup: Hodag teams dominate Lakeland

Both of Rhinelander’s Northwoods Babe Ruth teams scored resounding wins at Lakeland earlier this week. The Prep League team scored a 25-6 win on Monday and the Senior League team won 18-1 on Tuesday.

Further details from the Prep League game were not available prior to deadline. In Tuesday night’s Senior League game, the Hodags scored four times in the first, three times in the second, nine times in the third and twice more in the fifth. 

Charlie Johnson and Douglas Hartmann combined to toss a one-hitter for the Hodags. Rhinelander had 10 hits in the contest. Parker McCone had three hits, Aidan Lueder scored two hits. Tommy Eades, Josh Willoughby, Blake Bauer, Hoyt Dantoin and Henry Schmitz had one hit each.

Both teams were in Tomahawk in games that concluded after press time. The Prep League team played Wednesday and the Senior League squad played Thursday. 

The Prep League team faces Lakeland at home this coming Monday while the Senior League team entertains first-place Crandon on Tuesday.
