Ahlstrom, in partnership with the plant’s union, United Steelworkers Union Local 2-15, recently awarded three $1,000 scholarships to area high school graduates.
“Ahlstrom and USW Union Local 2-15 are thrilled to announce our scholarship recipients this year,” said Dan McGreaham, Ahlstrom’s Rhinelander plant manager. “In addition to their high school course work, each of our recipients participated in extra-curriculars as well as activities related to their intended field of study. We celebrate the achievements of these graduates and wish them continued success on their future endeavors as they pursue their respective fields of study,” McGreaham added.
This is the second year Ahlstrom and USW Union Local 2-15 have partnered to award scholarships to students. Recipients of this year’s scholarships are:
• Alexia Robinson: Alexia graduated from Rhinelander High School and plans to pursue studies in Family and Consumer Science Education at UW-Stevens Point.
• Alexis Nelson: Alexis graduated from Rhinelander High School and will be attending Nicolet Area Technical College to study social work and criminal justice.
• Murphy Koth: A graduate of Tomahawk High School, Murphy will be attending Lawrence University, Appleton to pursue interests in the arts with an emphasis in film studios.
