Downtown Rhinelander Inc. has installed a cigarette ballot box at Bucketheads Sports Bar and Grill on Brown Street. Pictured are Capt. Josh Chiamulera of the Rhinelander Police Department, Bob Lueder with Downtown Rhinelander, Inc., Mike Hastreiter, owner of Bucketheads, Shelby Moore of the Oneida County Health Department, Kayla Sachse, and local students that are picking up cigarette butts downtown. The ballot box provides a method of interactive butt disposal by voting on a particular topic. On this box, you can vote for your favorite Fourth of July activity — parade or fireworks. For more information regarding the ballot boxes, contact Downtown Rhinelander via Facebook or its website.
