Nominations open for Oneida County Stewardship Awards

The Oneida County Land & Water Conservation Department has announced it will host the 13th annual Oneida County Stewardship Awards Banquet at 5 p.m. Thursday, August 1 at Holiday Acres in Rhinelander.

“Join us as we celebrate and honor invasive species superstars, lake groups, landowners, watercraft inspectors, lake monitors, and citizen scientists for their extraordinary stewardship efforts to protect Oneida County’s lands, waters, and watersheds,” banquet organizers said in a press release.

The guest speaker will be Bart Kotarba, wildlife educator at the Northwoods Wildlife Center. He will give a fun and educational talk on “Birds of Prey” and will have one of the Center’s ambassador red-tailed hawks on hand to meet up close and personal, the release states.

Nominate someone for an Oneida County Stewardship Award 

Do you know an exceptional individual, couple, lake group, or professional who deserves recognition for their outstanding contributions of time and effort towards the current and future health of our lands, waters, and watersheds in Oneida County? Now is your chance to recognize those superstars at the 13th Annual Oneida County Stewardship Awards Banquet, hosted by the Oneida County Land and Water Conservation Department.

The annual Oneida County Stewardship Award program recognizes individuals, couples, lake groups, landowners, watercraft inspectors, citizen lake monitors, citizen scientists, and professionals for their outstanding stewardship efforts, practices, or conservation achievements that help protect Oneida County’s natural resources. 

“We have great things happening in Oneida County and great individuals and groups making them happen,” the release states.
