Tennis league to be held Mondays during the summer
Area tennis players are invited to the Rhinelander High School tennis courts this summer to take part in the Rhinelander Area Tennis League.
The league will meet Mondays from 6 to 8 p.m. with players taking part in one match per week.
“It’s time to showcase your skills on the court and compete in our tennis league at the outdoor, Rhinelander High School courts,” stated a flyer on the Hodag Tennis Facebook page, announcing the league. “League play is competitive game to game, but scores will not be kept from week to week. Sign up as an individual player ready to meet new friends, or sign up as a sub.”
The flyer noted that the league is geared for players who already understand tennis scoring and rules. Players are asked to bring their own racquets, balls will be provided. Games will be scheduled based on reported skill level and will vary week to week; singles and doubles considered based on preference and court space. The league is coed.
Interested players are asked to sign up on the Hodag Tennis facebook page prior to Wednesday, June 12. The cost of the league is $40 per person and the league will be capped at 32 participants. League will be canceled if there is inclement weather.
Proceeds from the league will go to benefit the RHS tennis teams.
